Each spring, a pair of ospreys returns to the same nest at our Kalama, Washington, facility, beginning another season of nesting and raising their young. Through the Steelscape Osprey Cam, you can watch this remarkable annual tradition unfold in real time.
A Live View from Our Kalama Facility
Located at our Kalama, Washington, facility, the Steelscape Osprey Cam provides a live view of an active osprey nest along the Columbia River. Each season, visitors can observe osprey nesting, hatching, and raising their young in a natural setting.
What started as a nest atop a 60‑foot pole in 2012 has become a seasonal view many look forward to each year. The Osprey Cam offers a way to follow the cycle as it unfolds, from arrival to hatching to fledging.
The Steelscape Osprey Cam is currently offline for the season.
Another successful nesting cycle has taken place at our Kalama, Washington facility.
The live stream will return in the spring of 2027, when the osprey returns.

Building the Nesting Platform
In the fall of 2012, working alongside U.S. Fish and Wildlife experts, the Steelscape maintenance team carefully removed the existing nest and completed electrical upgrades to the light structure. To prevent future disruption, a dedicated nesting platform was installed above the original location, allowing the osprey to return without interfering with maintenance.
What began as a practical solution has become an opportunity to share this experience more broadly. Today, the Osprey Cam allows others to follow the nesting cycle and observe these birds season after season.
